I'm Danni, obviously, and this blog is about finding... well... me. After a University degree and a few years of travelling on and off, it's time for me to settle a little and be an adult. You know, staying in one place, having a 'grown up' job, living somewhere other than my parents place or overseas. Just... finding who I am, the real me. The one I am when I'm not with friends or family. The one I am when I'm not trying to be who other people expect me to be. You know... the daughter, the older sister, the friend, the cousin and niece who hasn't settled down with a husband and 3 kids by my mid-20's.
After travelling through various countries over the last 10 years, trying new things, making new friends, having new experiences, and re-inventing myself every time, it's time I find myself, the real me, where people I know and love can see it too. They can see that I'm not just the eldest daughter, the one with the travel bug and the psychology degree that is back at uni studying exercise physiology and sports science. Someone who isn't content with their life as it is and wants to change that.
I want my family and friends to finally see the real me. The one with the interest in dance and performing arts. The one who reads all the time. The one who likes to laugh and try new things. The one that's interested in sports, and enjoys the gym and running and dancing and gymnastics. The one who wants to get singing lessons, not because I want to be famous, but because I love to sing. The one who wants to join an amateur theatre group because I love to perform.
Follow me on this journey of self-discovery, as I strip back the layers and become who I really am, the one who is hiding under all the layers of who I thought I should be. The real me. The real Danni.
